In conjunction with Art Design Chicago and the Museum of Contemporary Photography, we listen in as curator Karen Irvine talks with artist Ayanah Moor about the legacy of Chicago-based artist Ralph Arnold who made photocollages that appropriated and commented upon mass media portrayals of gender, sexuality, race, and politics in the 1960s and 70s. Together they examine the exhibition, “The Many Hats of Ralph Arnold: Art, Identity & Politics”, and its companion “Echoes: Reframing Collage” which features Moor’s work – a direct response to Arnold.
Both exhibitions are on view through December 21 at the Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College Chicago as part of Art Design Chicago.
