Want to become a skilled skater by spring? Let’s go to Roller Dance School!
We’re teaming up with pro skater Elizabeth Perez to offer folks of all skating levels a groovy workout that will leave you feeling lifted physically and mentally. Each 90-minute class will cover proper skating skills while focusing on a classic roller dance move, inviting participants to perform them with confidence and rhythm.

(Sold Out) Jan 13 & 14: Spin into the New Year
Kick off 2019 with your best skate forward. Spin and twirl on your wheels as we learn a routine or two together! Solo, partner, and even group spins galore. But don’t worry, we’ll be working in plenty of other roller moves so you’ll never get too dizzy.
(Sold Out) Feb 10 & 11: Partner Skate
Screw trust falls, these moves help strengthen communication and trust. We’ll go over a variety of tricks you can do with a partner (or two). We’ll even cover the classic roller derby whip. Bring a partner in crime, or fly solo and make a new friend at class!
March 10 & 11: Spring in Your Step
Jumps! Our routine for this month with show off our jumps, so come build your confidence with these gravity-defying moves. Learn some artistic skating jumps, such as the classic salchow. But don’t worry, first thing we’ll learn is how to safely fall (and how to get back on your skates with style).

Let’s roller dance, Chicago-style. Every major city has it’s own roller dance style, and Chicago is no exception: Chicago’s style of skating is known as “JB”, named after the James Brown inspired beats that the DJ’s spin. JB skating is known for it’s intricate footwork, crazy legs, big wheels, and standing routines. Let’s learn the basics of JB skating!
