Bethany Claus Widick received her Master of Science in Historic Preservation from the School of the Art Institute (SAIC) in Chicago, with her master’s thesis is entitled, “Inside the Cherry Circle: The History and Restoration of the Chicago Athletic Association,” which examined the successful restoration and adaptive reuse of the CAA as well as provided an extensive history of the club, its members, and the structure itself. With conversation led by moderator Anne Sullivan (Department Chair of Historic Preservation at SAIC and preservation architect) who is Bethany’s thesis adviser, the two share interesting highlights of what Bethany uncovered in her research of our historic building and beyond.
