Dear Carmencita: Diva Karaoke & Gilded Ballads

August 4, 2018 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm Dear Carmencita Pop-Up Bar

Tonight is your night to embrace the persona of one of John Singer Sargent’s most infamous sitters, Mrs. George Swinton – an accomplished singer who performed professionally later in life.

5-7pm – 1890’s Pre-Game
Pregrame for an evening of song and dance, just as divas did in 1890. More to come!

8-11pm – Diva Karaoke and Gilded Ballads
Honor Divas of all decades, from the poised women of the Gilded Age to now. Take the mic during Diva Karaoke, and enjoy intermittent ballads performed live by Elizabeth Doyle – singer-pianist, composer, and co-lyricist for “Burnham’s Dream” – paying homage to women of the past.

Dear Carmencita will open for regular service at 5pm.
