Join Patrick Leacock and other members of the Illinois Mycological Association for a fungi show and tell.

While The Backroom will remain open to regular bar foot traffic during our events and discussions, seating for them is first come, first served. Following the Fungi show, enjoy a Psych Rock DJ set by Adam Scott.

Patrick Leacock – Collections Assistant

As a mycologist, Patrick studies fungi, particularly macrofungi — the mushrooms, boletes, polypores, and other visible fungi that fruit above the ground. His particular interest is in the macrofungi that form beneficial associations with woody plants exchanging nitrogen and nutrients for carbon. These fungi form ectomycorrhizae — covering the short roots of particular trees and shrubs, such as oak and pine.
