Hooligan Mag Presents: LIZA ANNE’S ABBA DISCO FOR ABORTION CARE
July 8
7:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Skate and dance the night away with our friends at smallWORLD collective! Studio 206 is inspired by The Warehouse at 206 S Jefferson Street, the historic birthplace of house music. We will be tapping into the evolution of disco into house, and celebrating the ethos of this holy and spiritual place where Black and Brown queer people found refugee and sanctuary. A place that was made for marginalized Chicagoans to intentionally access liberation and freedom.
Join us as we honor the past and celebrate the present! As we come together on the rink and the dance floor, we are tapping into a rich legacy of joy and celebration that has been fostered by queer folks for decades. Let’s embrace the spirit of Frankie Knuckles, the godfather of house music, and channel the energy and freedom of Donna Summer as we pay homage to the cultural legacy that began at 206 S Jefferson Street.
