Cindy’s, atop the Chicago Athletic Association hotel (12 S. Michigan Ave.), whose namesake herself was mother to 5 Pritzkers, celebrates Mother’s Day this year with a spin on the restaurant’s weekly Sunday tradition. Resident Uptown Downtown DJ, Dave Mata of Soul Summit & Impala Sound, will turn the tables over to his own mother, Marlene “Mama” Mata (DJ Mama Mata). On this special day, she’ll share her infectious and soulful spirit with Sunday brunchers at Cindy’s, not only to celebrate and honor Ms. Cindy Pritzker, but all moms.

Join the dynamic duo on May 14, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. during brunch, for this special edition of “Uptown Downtown,” an all vinyl set of vibrant soul music from every corner of the globe.
