TASTE OF ICELAND IN CHICAGO: WHY ICELAND INSPIRES US TO PUT PEN TO PAPER

As part of the larger Taste of Iceland event taking place March 17-20 across Chicago, the Chicago Athletic Association hotel is thrilled to welcome Eliza Reid and her presentation “The Write Stuff: Why Iceland Inspires Us To Put Pen To Paper.” Myths, magic, and sagas: Iceland’s robust storytelling culture has made it one of the most coveted destinations for creative minds across the globe. Boasting some of the most writers and published books per capita in the world, Reykjavík is the first non-native English speaking UNESCO City of Literature. To celebrate this spirit of storytelling, Reykjavik-based writer and editor Eliza Reidwill talk about what makes Iceland so unique and inspirational – both as a home and as a travel destination – for lovers of the written word. Reid’s presentation will be a part of the Chicago Athletic Association hotel’s ongoing Storytelling Series in the second floor Drawing Room. Chicago Athletic Association hotel’s Drawing Room, 12 S.
